The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is a great choice if you're looking for a mid-range mop and robot vacuum. It gives a great mopping experience, but it lacks the features that make up its more expensive sibling.
During tests it was able to eliminate pet hair and dry oats out of carpets with a medium pile. However, unlike other models, it doesn't utilize LIDAR to determine the layout of your home.
1. iRobot Roomba S9+
The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is one of the best-rated robots. It offers impressive cleaning power and plenty of features that include a self-emptying dirt compartment built into its charging base. This robot can recognize your cleaning habits, and recommend automatic schedules to provide you with the ultimate hands-free cleaning experience.
The iRobot Home App guides you through the setup process. Once the system is in place you can begin the cleaning automatically with just one button press. You can select an overall clean which focuses on the elimination of larger pieces of debris like rice and cereal. You can also select two detailed mappings to ensure that your entire home is thoroughly cleaned.
This robot vacuum is effective on both bare floors and carpets with low pile. It can take in large objects and does not lose suction as fast as other models do and can pick up pet hair with ease. It's not able to work with carpets that are high-pile or plush however iRobot promises that the next models will be more efficient.
The S9+ features a new design from iRobot that concentrates on enhancing corner and edge cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted, D-shaped design, which it hopes will allow it to be able to swaddle furniture and walls. It's a great improvement over the hockey puck-like design of the majority of robovacs. However, we discovered it to be only marginally better than circular models.
iRobot also claims the S9+ has a superior filtering system that stops tiny dust particles and allergens from recirculating within your home. We like the statement however, it's not enough to justify a premium price.
Its smart navigation system uses sensors to keep track of the arrangement of your home and vSLAM to map your interior. This allows it to steer clear of obstacles, like staircases and other barriers, and also to clean your entire home efficiently possible. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and create virtual boundary markers so that the robot can determine which areas need extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
Roborock Q Revo is a machine that is a combination of mopping and vacuuming. Its vacuum settings are as good as those on more expensive models. Its mopping system is even better as its spinning pads scrub floors better than the vibrating pads.
The only downside is that it lacks an additional rubber brush to allow to provide more thorough cleaning, but that's an affordable cost to pay for if you want one of the best robots on the market. The dust tank on the robo-vac is larger than many of its competitors and filling it up only takes two or three cycles, even when you have maximum dirt.
In terms of the mopping device, I was awestruck with its ability to scrub off hard-to-clean dirt from my floors. The two mopping settings that it has which are less powerful than high-powered ones, create little noise, so you can work or watch television without getting distracted. It will gently bump into furniture or walls, and move on when it encounters one.
The Q Revo is unique in that it runs almost autonomously, with little user involvement. The dock of the robo-vac is multifunctional and will automatically move garbage into a bin hidden. It also cleans and dries the clean water tank. The app is good at alerting you when something is in need of attention, like the water tank that is running out of clean or a scheduled cleaning session being cancelled due to a full dust bin.
You can also create or merge actual rooms in order to personalize the way Q Revo handles your home. This is an excellent feature if you have multiple rooms in your home that have different floor materials or if there's some clutter that needs to be removed frequently, such as toys, clothes and books. The robot vacuum was also one of the top performers in my tests and was able to remove debris from carpets as well as hardwood floors on the first pass. It can even remove wet spills but I would suggest wiping them dry with a damp cloth prior to sending the robot in.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd want from a top-quality robot vacuum and mop cleaning robots combo and more. Like the iRobot Roomba S9+, it is a top-quality vacuum with a powerful suction that cleans hard and carpet floors, as well as an omni-rotating mop that scrubs tough staining. It also comes with a self-cleaning station that automatically washes and cleans the mop pads to keep them clean and ready for reuse. It also features a new sensor system that better recognizes obstacles, giving it the ability to avoid falling over furniture or other objects.
The most notable improvement to the ECOVACS X1 Deebot is its sleeker, modern design. This is due to the Danish company Jacob Jensen Design, best known for their Bang & Olufsen product line. Although it's still quite large--it's more than two feet high and deep and weighs nearly four pounds--the entire robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot J7.
This version is also more efficient than the X1, as it has faster battery charging and can handle a full cleaning of around 1,500 square feet on one charge. It also has a larger and more robust dust bin that can hold more debris. This makes it easier to empty.
The X2 Omni also has a more natural voice assistant and an app that can be used even when you're not at home. It also has more mopping modes and an intelligent routing feature that gives it the flexibility to clean specific rooms or areas of your home instead of just following a specific route.
The Omni X2 Omni has the best mopping performance of any robot we've tested because of its mop pads that rotate to clean tough stains away and a motor that produces plenty of downward pressure. The vacuuming capabilities are also top-notch, and it boosts suction when it detects a carpet to ensure a thorough cleaning. It also has a large battery that can last for weeks between charges, and its mopping mode is as powerful as any we've seen in a consumer-grade robot.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a top-quality model that offers a number of convenience features not often found on robots in this price range. It has the ability to create detailed floor maps, detect different types of flooring and is one of the few robots that automatically wash and dry its mop pads. These features are nice, but they also push the L10s into the premium category. This could make it more expensive than homeowners need.
Created to look like a modern floor cleaner, the L10s Ultra is a tall and slim device with an elegant white finish accented by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is dominated by a large bumper that helps protect furniture and the vacuum from damage while moving through the house. Sensors are concealed behind the front panel, which helps the L10s Ultra navigate around tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top, you'll find one button that acts as an on/off switch. Clicking this will turn on the vacuum, and pressing it again will shut off the vacuum and return it to its base station. The control panel has an oblique menu that lets you select cleaning modes, schedules, and preferences. The left and right buttons below the screen will open up the settings menu of the app where you can tweak the way that the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation techniques to map out your home. This allows the robot to mop and vacuum efficiently without getting stuck. The LIDAR also lets the robot vacuum recognize and avoid obstacles, which is a nice feature for families with children or pets.
The L10s Ultra has a solid vacuuming capability that clears 98.4 percent of debris from our test on the hard floor and getting rid of all but the most stubborn juice stains. Its mops are efficient, clearing 98.4 percent of the debris that was found on our wood, tile and carpet tests. It wasn't as effective in removing sand from our hard flooring or quaker oats off the carpet.
